“In the face of so many headwinds in the wine industry, we’re ‘thinking outside the winery’ to meet wine drinkers where they are,” said Sokol Blosser president Alex Sokol Blosser. “We’re not waiting for people to come to us. Now that we’ve got wheels, we can introduce more people to our wines at events ranging from outdoor concerts to community festivals and more across the Portland area.”
‘We’re not waiting for people to come to us’Family-owned Sokol Blosser’s Evolution Wine Bar is a retro-style trailer sporting a custom design that fits with the Evolution brand’s casual, fun, energetic vibe. The interior is fitted with wine chillers, frosé machines and reusable keepsake cups. Evolution wines and exclusive frosé will average $10-$15 per glass, and bottles will be sold where and when permitted.
The first stop for the bar will be the Portland Rose Festival’s 10-day City Fair at Tom McCall Waterfront Park from May 23 to June 8. Sokol Blosser is the exclusive wine partner of this year’s festival.

After taking frosés to the Rose Festival, the Evolution Wine Bar will head out on a ‘Summer Pour Tour’, pulling up at events like the Tigard Festival of Balloons (June 20-22), The Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland (July 4-5), Harefest (July 17-19) and the Beaverton Music Festival (August 23).
The mobile bar can be booked for private events, from weddings to corporate bashes, and wine selections can be customised to include Sokol Blosser wines as well as Evolution wines. The second-generation wine producers make wines from Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gamay, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc.
“The Evolution Wine Bar brings this brand to life in an exciting, new way,” says Sarah Telfer, director of consumer sales for Sokol Blosser. “Wine, music and community are the pillars of the Evolution brand, and we can’t wait to bring unforgettable wine experiences to wine drinkers where they are.”
The mobile bar is a development of an idea hatched last year in response to Alex Sokol Blosser’s view that they shouldn’t “stand there and wait” for people to come to the winery. After some brainstorming, they rolled out the ‘Sokol Blosser Comes to You’ campaign last autumn, where they poured at holiday fairs and festivals and rolled out wine tastings at peoples’ homes and at private events.
