Let the Judging Begin

This week, our expert panel of judges has gathered at The Oval for judging week of the 42nd International Wine Challenge - and the tasting is now underway.

Each panel is tasked with assessing around 70 wines per day. Panels are composed of a Chair, Senior Judge, Judge, and Associate Judge, ensuring a balance of experience and perspective. All wines are tasted blind, with judges first recording their individual scores before coming together to agree on a final award. Every wine is then cross-checked by the IWC Co-Chairs.

Over the past two days, the focus has been on European wines. We've welcomed buyers and experts from across the trade, including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, The Dorchester, 67 Pall Mall, The Oxford Wine Company, Harrods, Adnams, and ETM Group, alongside leading Masters of Wine such as Christy Canterbury, Cathy van Zyl, Anne Krebiehl, and Madeleine Stenwreth.
