Following successful trials in Tranche 1, the IWC is moving to a single round of judging from April 2026.From April 2026, the IWC moves to a single round of judging, reducing complexity and overall shipping costs for producers.
Choose How to Ship Your Wines
Producers can ship their wines to the IWC in one of three ways:
Option 1: IWC × Hellmann Global Consolidated Shipping (Recommended)
A door-to-door service designed specifically for wine competitions. Note if you are shipping this way, the online entry deadline is the 28th February.
Entrants must use the IWC provided labels if wines are sent this way to avoid delays.
Includes
- All UK duties and taxes
- Customs clearance and compliance
- Handling and delivery direct to the IWC depot
Why use Hellmann
- Significantly cheaper than international couriers
- No customs delays or rejected shipments
- No paperwork or compliance stress
- Smooth delivery into the IWC depot

For producers attending Wine Paris:
- £35 per entry
- No customs
- No UK courier

Option 3: Own Courier (Not Recommended)
UK border controls are strict. Independent courier shipments often face delays, additional charges, or failed deliveries.
Our advice:
Use IWC × Hellmann or Wine Paris drop-off to avoid risk.

1. Bottle Savings
Reducing from 4 bottles to 3 saves one bottle per entry.
Savings by wine value (per entry):
- £10 wine → £10 saved
- £25 wine → £25 saved
- £50 wine → £50 saved
- £100–£300+ wine → £100–£300+ saved

6 wines at £30 each → £180 saved on bottles
2. Shipping Savings vs 2025
Example: 6 wines shipped from Europe using Hellmann (4+ rate)
- 2025: 6 × £60 = £360
- 2026: 6 × £49 = £294
→ £66 saved on shipping

6 wines at £30 each, shipped from Europe:
- Bottle savings: £180
