Getting Started
1. Log in or create an account
If you're new to the IWC, start by creating an account or signing in.
For queries regarding your company's existing account, please contact Chris Ashton.
2. Complete the Wine Entry Form
Once logged in, you'll find the wine entry form in your dashboard.
A checklist of required information is provided to help you complete it accurately.
3. Submit and pay
When your entries are ready, proceed to checkout.
You can pay by credit card or request an invoice in GBP, EUR or USD.
4. Prepare your samples
Each wine requires three bottles. Please pack your samples securely for transit.
5. Label and ship your wines
After submitting your entry, you'll receive:
● Your IWC barcode delivery label
● Your airway bill
⮚ Print the IWC barcode delivery label and airway bill (emailed to you with your entry confirmation)
⮚ Write the number of bottles on each box, then attach the barcode label and airway bill.
You may ship via:
● A private courier
● Hellmann consolidated shipping (recommended for international producers)
● Your UK importer

Rules of Entry

By entering, you consent to the use of your data for administering the competition and for any purposes to which you have explicitly agreed.
2. Availability of Wines in the UK
If your wine is already available in the UK, your UK representative should submit the entry on your behalf.
If your wine has no UK importer and you wish to join the Discovery Tasting, select Yes in Question 2 of the entry form and pay the supplementary fee.
3. Entry Fees
● £170 per wine (plus VAT where applicable)
● Early Bird for Tranche 2: Save 5% before 31 January 2026

● Discovery Tasting: + £90 per wine (plus VAT)
International shipping via IWC's approved partner (Hellmann):
● £60 per entry (Old World) + VAT
● £68 per entry (New World) + VAT
● Discovery Tasting entries:include 2 additional bottles when using Hellmann (to support both tastings)
VAT rules:
● UK companies: VAT applies
● EU companies (with valid VAT number): no UK VAT
● Non-EU companies: no UK VAT
Payment deadlines:
● 1 December 2025 (Tranche 1)
● 27 March 2026 (Tranche 2)
Late payment disqualifies the entry.
4. Payment Methods
Online payment via most major credit cards.
Invoices available in GBP, EUR and USD.
5. Entry Form Deadlines
● Tranche 1: 27 November 2025
● Tranche 2: 20 March 2026
6. Criteria for Entry
a. All wines must be commercially available (cellar door, online or retail).
b. Wines must be made from the partial or complete alcoholic fermentation of grapes or grape must.
c. Labels must comply with EU regulations, including region and geographical origin.
d. Wines bottled in a different country to where they were produced are eligible.
e. Wines must have a non-reusable seal or closure (screwcaps accepted).
f. Unfinished wines will not be judged.
g. Temporary labels are permitted but must match final label information.
h. By entering, you consent to bottle photography for display with your results online.
i. By entering you consent to the use of your data for administering the competition and for any purposes to which you have explicitly agreed.
7. Samples
Wines can be tasted up to three times, with one additional bottle kept for condition checks.
Therefore each entry requires four bottles (six bottles if you enter the IWC Discovery Tasting.)
Tranche 1 sample deadlines:
● Hellmann consolidated shipping: 26 October 2025
● Private courier: 28 November 2025
Tranche 2 sample deadlines:
● Hellmann consolidated shipping: 6 March 2026
● Private courier: 27 March 2026
All courier shipments must arrive Duty Paid.
The entrant is responsible for any penalties or unpaid charges.
All samples become the property of the IWC once received.
8. IWC Discovery Tasting
To enter:
● The wine must not have UK representation at submission.
● If a UK importer is appointed after entry but before 20 April 2026, please notify the IWC and the Discovery fee will be refunded.
● Select Yes for Question 2 on the entry form and specify your target market (On-trade / Off-trade).

9. Withdrawal of Entries
To cancel an entry you must email the IWC here with the name of the wine to be withdrawn and the name of the company deleting the entry. Entry fees can only be refunded in full if the cancellation is made before the first date of IWC judging 2026 (20th April 2026)
CANCELLATIONS AFTER THIS DATE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. If the entrant has used the IWC consolidated shipping service prior to cancelling the entry, the shipping fee will not be refunded.
10. Duplicate Entries
If multiple companies submit the same wine, all names will appear in the results.
Entry fees will not be refunded.
11. Medal Images
Medal artwork may be used until 31 December 2026.
Standard-resolution artwork and social media templates are free to download via your account.
Physical medal stickers for your bottles can be purchased here.
12. Governing Law
These rules are governed by English law.
All disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
