Application for Associate Judges now open

<p>If you wish to become an IWC wine judge in 2025 please complete the registration.</p> <p>Please note: All judges who join the IWC for the first time will be an Associate Judge. This is so our experienced Panel Chairs can assess your knowledge, tasting ability and communication skills. You will have a maximum of 2 days and be with different Panels Chairs each day. You must receive good marks from both PC&rsquo;s to proceed. You have 2 years to be promoted to Judge.</p> <p>New judges should usually have qualified with a WSET Diploma (Level 4) in Wine. In exceptional cases we may accept WSET Level 3 if they are studying for the Diploma and working within the international wine trade. Advanced Master Sommelier qualifications are also accepted as an entry marker.</p> <p>Those first-time judges who hold the MW or MS qualification will usually start as a Senior Judge.</p> <p>The IWC does not promote judges. The Panel Chairs assess and write reports on all judges on their judging performance. As you move up the judging ladder you will receive more days to judge. To be promoted ,you must have three PC agreements in the same year to be promoted to the next level, and then wait for a space to become available.</p> <p>The judging tier system is as follows:</p> <p>Associate> Judge> Senior Judge> Panel Chair> Co Chair</p>
