Deadlines for wines entered from outside the UK
- The deadline for on-line entry is 26th February 2010.
- Posted entry forms must be received at IWC by 12th February 2010.
- Wines must be delivered to your nearest Geodis Wine Logistics shipping agent in time for them to arrive in the UK by 10th March 2010.
Sending your Wine from Outside the UK
- Free On Board (FOB shipping), on behalf of all Non UK entrants the International Wine Challenge will cover the costs associated with duty, storage, carriage, UK clearance and taxes on samples supplied.
- The freight charges will only be paid if the entrant ensures delivery is received in the United Kingdom by 10 March 2010.
- The freight charges will only be paid if the entrant uses the approved Geodis Wine Logistics shipping agents.
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to pay all delivery charges up to the point where their local, Geodis Wine Logistics approved shipping agent, receives the samples.
- The entrant is responsible for contacting their local Geodis Wine Logistics approved shipping agent to arrange a suitable date of delivery that allows sufficient time for the samples to be delivered and received in the UK by 10 March 2010.
- Free on Board (FOB) prices of wines per 75cl must be included on the Entry Form/s since it is upon this figure that duty levels are calculated.
- The alcohol level must be included on the Entry Form/s since it is upon this figure that duty levels are calculated.

Payment of duty
The Commissioners of HMR&C require evidence of payment of duties and VAT as enshrined in The Alcoholic Liquor Duties Act 1979 and enforced by The Customs & Excise Management Act 1979. Procedures to achieve this are stipulated in the Customs Tariff and Public Notices covering alcoholic products. It is an offense to avoid the payment of these taxes on samples.
